Senior Coach – Sarah Manuel
Sarah swam for Harbour Swim Club and was an original member of the club. Sarah was a member of the Bermuda National Squad and represented Bermuda at a number of meets in the Caribbean (Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation Championships and Caribbean Island Swimming Championships). On attending University, Sarah was a member of the University of Guelph swim team. She continues to swim for fitness and occasionally compete in masters swimming competitions.
Coaching Qualifications
1980s – completed the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association’s Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Instructor Certification.
Early 1990s – completed the ASCA level 1, 2 and 3 coaching certification
A little more recently, in 2004 and 2005, completed courses that are part of the Coaching Association of Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (courses included – designing a basic sport program; make ethical decisions; nutrition; planning a practice; teaching and learning; basic mental skills).
Coaching Experience:
Started teaching swimming lessons for the Harbour Swim Club’s Summer Learn to Swim program in 1980.
Started coaching age group club swimmers in 1987 and now have 15 + years experience of coaching age group swimmers.
