Harbour swimmers experience first overseas meet

Over the weekend 7 young swimmers, ages 9-12, from Bermuda’s Harbour swim club competed in the 2025 GCST Mark Mccaw Summer Classic swim meet which took in Fort Myers Florida.

The swim meet was held over a three day period with preliminary competition in the morning and finals in the evening. This was the first overseas swimming competition for the group and all girls had outstanding swims. There were many personal bests, which is a significant accomplishment considering the fatigue associated with travel and volume of swimming that was executed over the three day period.

Our group of young swimmers kicked off the meet singing the Bermuda National Anthem to the audience and continued to impress with exceptional swimming performances,many of which making the cut for the finals each evening.

The swimmers not only performed well but demonstrated great team spirit and maturity. The girls are already looking forward to their next overseas meet Bermuda swimmers in attendance were Colette Durkin, Eva Desjardins, Myla Desjardins, Charlotte Henderson, Iris Duda, Evelyn Fahy, Aine Fahy.
