Bio

Shona began her swimming career joining a local swim club at age 7. She competed at all levels and was Scottish National Champion in multiple events and age groups from age 10, holding a significant number of Scottish National Records.

Shona represented Scotland from age 12 – 18 (included 1986 Commonwealth Games) and also represented Great Britain at International level, ‘retiring’ from competitive swimming at age 18 whilst studying Physiotherapy.

Arriving in Bermuda in 1991 to work as physiotherapist at KEMH, Shona continued to compete, this time in cycling and triathlon, becoming Bermuda National Champion at both disciplines, and representing Bermuda in World Triathlon Championships.

Shona was additionally selected to represent Great Britain age-group triathlon team

Coaching:
Shona began coaching Harbour juniors around 5 years ago and took over as Head Coach of Harbour at the start of the 2013-14 season.

Completed levels 1 & 2 ASCA certification and Advanced Freestyle course. Currently working on level 3.

As well as coaching Harbour, Shona passes on her passion for swimming through Fit4allbda learn to swim sessions and adult stroke development classes. Shona also coaches MAAC Jr running club.
